2012-13 Academic Scholarships 

The ASWA Educational Foundation undergraduate and master’s scholarships that are to be awarded in Spring 2012, for students to apply towards tuition for the 2012-13 academic year are as follows:

• Undergraduate Scholarships - For those attending an accredited College or University in their 3rd, 4^th, or 5^th year of study, and are pursuing an accounting or finance degree.
• Master’s Scholarships - For those attending an accredited College or University enrolled in a master’s program, and is pursuing an accounting or finance degree.

Guidelines

1. We suggest your chapter set a chapter deadline for receipt of applications that allows for sufficient time to submit your candidate(s) to the Foundation by April 1, 2012.
2. Applicants are not required to be ASWA members. Your chapter may solicit applications by contacting the financial aid offices or accounting professors of your local colleges and universities. Or, consider accepting applications from residents who are enrolled in accredited institutions outside the chapter’s geographic area.
3. Your submission of candidates presumes the chapter has verified the validity of the transcripts provided.

The deadline for submitting completed undergraduate and master’s submission forms to the Foundation is April 1, 2012. Chapters may nominate only one candidate per scholarship and only completed candidate submissions will be considered. Submit applications to foundation@aswa.org.

The Akron-Canton Chapter of the ASWA is proud to honor students majoring in Accounting (male or female) by offering a SCHOLARSHIP each year to help aid them in furthering their educational goals.

This scholarship is available to any part-time or full-time student attending our local universities and colleges who meets various requirements. (Applicant must either live or attend college in Summit, Portage, Stark or Medina county)

The scholarship is worth $500 and our chapter's winner is automatically entered into the NATIONAL ASWA SCHOLARSHIP pool for an opportunity to win additional amounts ranging from $1,500 - $4,500 !!
